Eat plenty of vegetables; esp. cabbage, deeply
pigmented fruits&vegetables & also fruits rich in vitamin C. Aim
for at least 5 servings of fruits & vegetables per day.
Plenty of high fiber foods such as whole grains, vegetables, fruits; aiming
for a daily fiber intake of 20--30 gm.
Avoid obesity & aim for weight control through
exercise & lower energy input.
Decrease fat intake to 30% or less of the total
energy intake.
Minimize the consumption of salt cured, smoked&
nitrite cured foods esp. tinned food.
Limit / eliminate use of alcohol.
